The town of La Mata (Toledo) in the heart of Don Quixote’s land of La Mancha(Central Spain) is where for the last 100 years the Munoz family have been producing this extra virgin olive oil of magnificent quality. The first olive mill consisting of an olive press with a millstone and pressing mats was created at the end of the 19th century.

Produced under the Protected Designation of Origin of Montes of Toledo and made from the Cornicabra and Picual varieties, Herencia Mediterranea is the final result of a careful and elaborate process which culminates in the production of a first class extra virgin olive oil. Its colour ranges from golden yellow to intense green and has a fresh, fragrant and fruity aroma. It sweet taste accompanied by some bitter nuances provides it with its distinctive flavour making it one of the most delicious extra virgin olive oils available.

This milder version of the Herencia Mediterranea is derived from the hojiblanca variety of olive, sold in a 500ml metal tin.
